NEW ADDITIONS TO ALLEN
PARISH
HOSPITAL WILL INCREASE PATIENT COMFORT AND PRIVACY
The landscape at Allen Parish Hospital is rapidly changing.
2008 -- New additions to the physical plant of APH have begun. Five patient rooms are involved in the renovation and will feature new medical equipment, furniture, beds and bathroom fixtures. One of the most exciting additions is that of a private shower in each of these rooms. This measure was taken to increase comfort and privacy for each patient and their family during their stay at Allen Parish Hospital. This quarter million dollar project is one of the first additions to the physical plant of the hospital in several years. “We are very excited about the benefits those visiting our hospital will receive from these long awaited additions. Our top priority is providing our patients and their families with top quality healthcare, utmost comfort, and increased privacy. With these additions, we definitely feel that we’ve reached a real milestone,” said Scott Barrilleaux, CEO and Administrator of Allen Parish Hospital.
Allen Parish Hospital’s Board of Directors recently approved a measure to add another parking lot on the property to allow for additional patient parking. Since re-opening its Emergency Room in 2004, parking has become a problem on the campus. The Board of Directors also touched on the possibility of offering digital mammography to the list of services currently offered by the facility. Talks for such an addition are still in their early stages; however, it is the hope of the hospital to begin offering the services in the near future.
Allen Parish Hospital has done much to increase its imaging capabilities and has seen great success in doing so. Perhaps the most highly anticipated addition was that of full time MRI, a service that arrived in early May and allows the hospital to perform MRI services five days a week. Other recent additions to its imaging center include the recent acquisition of the Toshiba Aquilion CT Scan Unit.
Allen Parish Hospital looks to continue expanding its services to better serve its community well into the future. Its efforts have proven to be successful thus far and with continued community support, additional growth will be seen.
